Regular Meeting
Meeting Notes August 6, 2003

Members present: Alan Bodenhorn, John Chiles, Anne Evans, Anne 
Hance (Chair), Richard Yamagata, and Richard Lowenberg.
Members absent: Alan Brattesani, Wendy Yoder
Visitors: Frank Schick, Loran Wyman

1.  The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm
2.  The agenda was approved with the addition of the application from 
DPNS

3. Review of projects:
The committee agreed to a general policy that projects should not be 
authorized when the applicant fails to appear.

a) The applicant for the Davis Friends of Rutilio Grande project did not 
appear. The application was not addressed except that Anne agreed to 
contact the applicant to request the group's representation at the September 
3 meeting, and Richard Lowenberg agreed, as the potential DCN liaison to 
the group, to attempt to talk to the applicant.

b)  Approved the project submitted by the:
      Davis Democratic Club
      Applicant Richard Yamagata
	Start Aug 6, 2003       End Indefinite
	1 Mailman List
                1 Zope Calendar
    The Davis Democratic Club will make periodic donations to DCN in 
general support of DCN's community activities.

c)  Approved the project submitted by:
     Yolo County Citizens Against the Recall
     Applicant Richard Yamagata, with Scott Lay
	Start Aug 6, 2003        End November 6, 2003
	1 Shell

e)  Approved the project submitted by the:
      Davis Parent Nursery School (DPNS)
	Start Aug 6, 2003     End Indefinite
	1 Simple Site
	1 Mailman List

4.   Funeral Consumers Simple Site - advice and help for Frank Schick
      The committee made recommendations concerning the membership 
sign-up page. Anne will check with the DCN Web Team to see if the 
Register.com service is hosting the domain name in such a way that it can 
be linked  for use in the simple site URL. Richard Y mentioned that 
addme.com will submit a URL to 10 search engines without charge. Frank 
was advised to get other sites to link to his pages and to submit requests 
for links on DCN pages by using the "Add a link" option at the foot of 
each page. links

5. Other
Richard Yamagata agreed to Chair the September 3 meeting
when Anne is out of the country.
