Meeting Notes June 2 2004

Visitors:

 1.   Call to order was at 6:30PM
 2.   Agenda was approved on a motion by John Chiles to add a last
       minute application from France Harper Jr, Hi.
 3.   Introductions
 4.   Project Reviews

	a)  Met with Edward Comingore of the Comingore Foundation.
	At the May meeting the Foundation was authorized the use of a
	Simple Site. Edward reported that the site for his scholarship
	foundation has been set up and is being worked on - by him.

	b)  The pre-meeting indefinite of extension of the DHS Jazz Choir's
	Simple Site, Shell account and Mailman List was ratified on a motion
	by John Chiles

	c) Approved the application from David Siedband on behalf of
	N Street Co-housing for a Mailman List, Plone site, and 25 MB
	disk storage.  David gave a quick demonstration of a Plone site
	using his iBook laptop computer.

d) Did not review the application from Paul Charteris on behalf of 
Davis based Mad Cow triathlon racing Team for a DCN Calendar
	- applicant was a no-show.

	e.  Did not review the application from Ingrid Hogle on behalf of
	Amnestty International, Local Chapter for a Simple site,
	2 Mailman Lists, a Calendar, and Web Team help/training
	- applicant was a no-show

	Added item:   Approved the application of Jane Schafer-Kramer on
behalf of Frances Harper Jr Hi PTO for a Simple Site, a Mailman 
List, a Calendar, & Webteam help

5.   Several visitors and RAC members reviewed the draft guidelines for 
DCN Community Calendar postings prepared by Tsui Chang. There were 
helpful comments. It became clear that in order for more organizations to 
understand the potential and manner of functioning of the DCN Calendar 
there needs to be some educational outreach marketing. In order to have a 
sufficient number of active calendars ready to populate th Community 
Calendar when it goes live we need to have more groups and entities 
applying to the RAC for calendars..
